I can't find any mention of this new form of slavery on the Anti-Slavery Society's website?

Home carers are being paid £1.50 an hour based on a 35 hour week. Let's ignore the fact that in reality we are talking about a 24/7 occupation and that their real wage is actually 32 pence an hour - but their obvious wage is £53 a week in benefit.

Local Authories spend £22 an hour on home care and even the corner cutting private sector in home care are spending £10 an hour on providing so-called home care.

Home carers provide services valued at £83 billion a year. That is, £83 billion that the government can forget about.

The government is very happy with this situation. It's also very happy to allow the private sector to provide the 70% of the home care neglectfully for communities that Local Authorities have washed their hands of, or, put another way, that Local Authorities can't get the slave labour of home carers to do for nothing.
